  • Engaging key Members of Congress, their staff, and committee professional staff on capabilities, expertise, and issues of interest;

  • Generating communications by Members of Congress to Executive Agencies;

 

  • Coordinating actions and communications between key congressional staff and the staff of agency legislative liaisons;

  • Influencing the Defense Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process, as well as other agency equivalents;

  • Working the legislative authorization (policy) process to codify language and/or study directives (to generate or mitigate requirements);

  • Working the legislative appropriations process to direct and/or protect funding;

  • Capitalizing on diverse and obscure funding and policy opportunities;

  • Ensuring any relevant funding is not diverted or rescinded, and will be provided through advantageous contract vehicles;

  • Monitoring for and responding to potential adverse actions; e.g. protection from threatening legislation, funding cuts, regulations, bureaucratic issues, and  communications initiated by adversarial entities;

  • Assisting in campaign contribution decisions and in the formation of a political action committee (PAC);

  • Proposal and capture support;

  • Assisting in due diligence activities;

  • Assisting in development and execution of a complementary state and local strategy (e.g. National Guard, FEMA responders, local administrators and non-governmental organizations);

  • Providing temporary DC workspace for traveling personnel.
